Job Title: Pathways Employment Advisor
Location: Based in Liskeard and working across Cornwall and occasionally Plymouth with some opportunity for remote working.
Hours: 35 hours per week to be worked flexibly including evenings & weekends to suit the needs of the business/team
Salary: £27,000 - £32,000 depending on experience
Real Ideas Group works to solve problems and create opportunities that regenerate communities and support individuals to progress and flourish. We do this through four teams, each with a distinct focus. Pathways, delivering employability support;
Liskeard Library, a library and cultural hub;
Nature and Neighbourhoods, our consultancy service; and the Devonport Creative Quarter, growing the createch sector, creative careers, businesses and opportunities.
Real Pathways as a team supports individuals, groups and communities to develop their skills towards personal development, learning or employment opportunities. This unit offers a programme of opportunity that has inclusion at its heart and seeks to make long and lasting positive impact, using the power of language and communication to develop life skills, careers and communities.
Job PurposeAs a Pathways Coordinator, you will deliver the Connect to Work programme using the IPS model whilst ensuring all support reflects and upholds the values of Real Ideas.
The programme is designed to support individuals with disabilities to find and sustain employment, after working through steps of vocational profiling, employer engagement and job matching. Our holistic approach supports increased industry knowledge, confidence and an individual’s ability to take next steps towards employment and personal development.
Main duties and responsibilities:- To deliver high quality support that provide skills development, particularly in our key themes of employability, personal development and life skills.
- To undertake high quality IAG and mentoring sessions to support individuals on their journey to employment
- To complete effective vocational profiling to support people to find appropriate roles
- Support rapid job search (typically within 4 weeks of engagement)
- Assist with CV writing, applications, and interview preparation
- Achieve job outcome targets in line with IPS fidelity standards
- Develop and maintain employer relationships to generate new opportunities, facilitate job carving, and encourage inclusive recruitment practices and sustainable staff retention
- To capture insight and feedback from those we work with to contribute to the overall impact framework of Pathways.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
- Track progress against outcomes and KPIs
- Use CRM systems and reporting tools effectively To work with partner organisations and other stakeholders to communicate the work of Real Ideas, provide meaningful feedback and enable people and communities to engage with the opportunities available.
- To support the pathways unit by providing content for social media and storytelling
- To develop relationships and partnerships that support the ambitions of individual's and the Pathways unit.
- To work within statutory and organisational safeguarding, risk assessment and data protection processes.
- To support the development of new products and services offered by Real Pathways Unit as required.
- To represent Real Ideas well, understanding and talking coherently about Real Ideas products and programmes to provide more value for customers and members.
- Work collaboratively across Real Ideas through active participation in Team days, training or other working groups.
- To adhere to and uphold Real Ideas’ social purpose, strategic aims and policies.
- To contribute to a culture of inclusion and equality and demonstrate a commitment to removing all forms of discrimination.
- To act with integrity and always maintain the highest professional standards.
- To strive to meet individual and collective targets.
