The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week). Part-time hours will be pro-rated accordingly.

Hourly rate of pay: £20.13 - £22.51

Temporary maternity cover for 12 months.

Days of working are to be negotiated, working hours are 09:00-17:00
Starting and finishing times are flexible, and flexi time is applicable.

East Lothian Children's Services has an exciting opportunity for a Family Support Worker to join the Disability Team. This is our specialist team working with children, young people, and their families, affected by complex and enduring disabilities. The team consists of a team leader, 2 senior practitioners, 3.5 social workers and 1.5 family support workers and has dedicated administrative support.

The successful applicant will work in partnership with children and their families to find creative and innovative approaches to meeting assessed need. The team undertake all aspects of this work including assessment, setting up and reviewing packages of support. The post holder will hold a caseload of children and young people affecetd by disability and be a key and valued part of the team.

Please Note:

Employees with a hybrid working arrangement in place will be office based and able to work from home, with permission, on an ad hoc basis.

To work as part of a supervisory Group providing direct support to the children and families and contributing to the delivery of Children’s Wellbeing services provided to vulnerable children, young people and their families in East Lothian.

Relevant Qualifications
You must be educated to at least HNC/SVQ 3 (SCQF
7) in Social Care or another relevant discipline and able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.
