Community Navigation Specialist - Flexible Hours

Enhance community support with Distress Centre as a Community Navigation Specialist, providing resources through calls, texts, and chats in a flexible part-time role. Be a lifeline for callers in need.

This position enables you to assist clients contacting 211 by assessing their needs and connecting them with appropriate services. You bring valuable experience from the Human Services field and have a passion for supporting vulnerable populations. With flexible shifts and remote work options, you'll be part of a dedicated team committed to making a real difference.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess client needs through various communication platforms

• Provide precise information and referrals using a database

• Follow-up on services to ensure they meet client needs

• Assist in maintaining database accuracy through reporting

• Attend training and contribute positively to team meetings

Requirements:

• Relevant Human Services diploma or equivalent experience

• Certification in First Aid/CPR and Naloxone Administration

• Knowledge of crisis intervention and mental health issues

• Strong communication skills in diverse settings

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
