Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week. Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
Job IntroductionWe’re recruiting a Senior Night Care Assistant to join our Supported Housing for Older People service, working 28.5 hours per week.
At Milton Keynes City Council, we’re committed to helping people live independently, safely and with dignity. Our Supported Housing for Older People service supports residents to remain in their own homes while receiving the care they need.
Courteneys Lodge provides 32 self-contained flats with 24-hour Care Quality Commission registered domiciliary care for older people living with dementia. You’ll join a supportive team helping residents live independently in a safe and welcoming environment.
This rewarding role is ideal for an experienced care professional who thrives at night, providing reassurance, support and high-quality care when it matters most.
As a Senior Night Care Assistant, you'll lead the night shift, respond to emergencies, support colleagues and maintain accurate care records. You'll play a key role in ensuring residents feel safe, comfortable and well supported.
Site-Based role
This is a Site-Based role, and you’ll be expected to work from the designated workplace.
Working Pattern
This role operates on a two-week rolling rota and consists of night shifts. The post is 28.5 hours per week working 3 x 9.5 hour shifts from hrs
Week 1: Night shifts on Wednesday and Thursday.
Week 2: Night shifts on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
This post attracts a Level 3 Annual Working Payment (AWP) in addition to the basic salary.

- Provide overnight operational support and supervision to care assistants across supported housing schemes.
- Deliver high-quality personal care that promotes dignity, independence and choice for older people, including those living with dementia, complex health conditions or receiving end-of-life care.
- Monitor wellbeing, identify risks and respond appropriately to safeguarding, health and safety and welfare concerns.
- Support tenants with mobility and moving and handling activities using appropriate equipment, including hoists and wheelchairs.
- Take the lead during emergencies or crisis situations, liaising with healthcare professionals, emergency services and on-call managers when required.
