Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week. Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.

We're recruiting a Housing Solutions Officer (Higher) to join our Housing Solutions team at Milton Keynes City Council. This rewarding specialist role focuses on supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or in need of housing assistance. Working closely with local mental health services, you'll spend a significant amount of time across a range of mental health settings, including hospitals, inpatient units, community mental health teams, supported accommodation and clinics, providing housing advice and support to patients preparing for discharge.

You'll manage complex cases, undertake homelessness assessments, develop personalised housing plans and coordinate with health professionals and partner agencies to help individuals secure suitable accommodation and sustain successful move‑on outcomes. By ensuring housing needs are addressed as part of the discharge process, you'll play a vital role in reducing homelessness, preventing delayed discharges and supporting some of the most vulnerable residents in our community.
