Position: Birmingham - Hybrid Social Worker - Family Finding Team
Location: Highgate

Join our dedicated Family Finding Team in Birmingham as a Qualified Social Worker, where you will play a vital role in ensuring children and families receive the support they need. This hybrid position offers the flexibility of remote work while allowing you to engage directly with families in the community. Your expertise will help us identify and secure permanent placements for children in care, fostering connections that promote their well-being and stability.

As a member of our team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments to identify suitable family members and connections for children in care.
  • Developing and implementing effective family finding strategies and plans.
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to each child's needs.
  • Providing support and guidance to families throughout the placement process.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with local authority standards.

To thrive in this role, you will need the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Experience in child protection and family finding, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with families and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess complex situations.
