Child Protection Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and dedicated Child Protection Officer to join their remote team, serving the Nelspruit area and surrounding communities in Mpumalanga . This crucial role involves safeguarding children by identifying risks, providing support to vulnerable families, and coordinating interventions to ensure child safety and well-being. You will work diligently to protect children from harm and promote their development in a secure and nurturing environment.

• Conduct risk assessments and investigations to identify and address child protection concerns.
• Develop and implement child protection plans in collaboration with families, schools, and relevant agencies.
• Provide support and guidance to children and families affected by abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
• Liaise with law enforcement, social services, and legal professionals to ensure appropriate interventions and legal protections.
• Maintain detailed and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and case progress.
• Advocate for the rights and needs of children, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in child protection, social work, or a related field.
• Thorough understanding of child welfare legislation, policies, and best practices in child protection.
• Excellent interviewing, assessment, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage sensitive cases remotely, and maintain strict confidentiality.
