Tripod Partners are currently recruiting for an experienced Fostering / Supervising Social Worker to join the Kinship Support Team at Gloucestershire County Council.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Social Worker who is passionate about supporting kinship foster carers and children, while contributing to positive safeguarding and care outcomes.
The RoleThe Kinship Support Team provides supervision and support to kinship foster carers across Gloucestershire and further afield, working closely with Children's Social Workers to ensure children are living in safe, stable and nurturing homes.
You will:- Supervise and support kinship foster carers
- Provide advice, guidance and ongoing support to carers
- Undertake regular visits and supervision
- Work closely with Children's Social Workers and other professionals
- Monitor the wellbeing and progress of children
- Contribute to safeguarding and risk management
- Support carers in meeting the needs of children in their care
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Develop positive working relationships with carers, children and professionals
- The team also has responsibility for private fostering arrangements across the county.
This is an important statutory safeguarding responsibility, involving regular visits to children and young people to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
About You- A recognised Social Work qualification
- Current Social Work England registration
- Experience with in Fostering, Kinship or Children's Services
- Experience supervising or supporting foster carers is desirable
- Strong safeguarding knowledge
- Excellent assessment and analytical skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with carers and professionals
- A child-centred approach
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- £35 per hour
