About us

HMCourts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is responsible forthe administration of criminal, civil and family Courts and Tribunals in England and Wales. Our roles support ourcourtusers and colleagues within HMCTS, where people and businesses access potentially life-changing justice.

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Court Co‑ordinator
to support the delivery of the
Intensive Supervision Court (ISC). This innovative approach aims to reduce reoffending and substance misuse by placing the judiciary at the centre of rehabilitation, with regular progress reviews and tailored interventions.

As Court Co‑ordinator, you will manage the end‑to‑end process of ISC cases, from pre‑sentence report requests through sentencing and monthly reviews. You will act as the key point of contact for the judiciary, probation, and other justice partners, ensuring smooth case progression and effective communication across agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee case management and scheduling of ISC hearings and review meetings.
  • Monitor and report pilot progress to the Strategic Lead and Ministry of Justice.
  • Chair pre‑review meetings and weekly case management sessions with delivery partners.
  • Build strong relationships with judiciary, probation, prison services, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely listing of cases and resolve delays or complex issues proactively.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills – to be able to form positive working relationship with colleagues, judges, solicitors, and other professional court users.
  • Strong communication skills – to be able to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders, some of whom will be very senior, and ensure external stakeholders are abiding with judicial directions. This will require respectfully and confidently holding external stakeholders to account while maintaining a productive working relationship.
  • Strong organisational skills – to keep track of a wide range of cases and the actions required to progress them.
  • Strong analysis skills – to identify cases that may need additional support and take action accordingly.
  • Good IT skills – to be able to record and track cases via the court’s IT systems such as Common Platform, and to work with the Digital Support Officer to ensure video links have been set up and tested before hearings and/or trials. Training would be provided if no existing experience of HMCTS systems.
  • A working knowledge of the criminal courts system.

These operational roles are customer facing, requiring successful applicants to be office based to provide HMCTS services to the public.

Non‑contractual hybrid working may be available. Hybrid working arrangements will bedeterminedby the business and will only be available when it has beenestablishedthat delivering the service from home can be done effectively.

We cannotfacilitaterequests for a particular work from home/working in the office schedule.

Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week.
