Job Description & How to Apply Below

Strengthen Families. Support Early Childhood Development. Build Community.

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and relationship-focused Family Support Home Visitor to join our Family & Community Support Services (FCSS) and Family Resource Network (FRN) team.

This position provides targeted and intensive home visitation services to families with children from the prenatal stage to six years of age. The Family Support Home Visitor plays an important role in promoting positive early childhood development, strengthening parent and caregiver capacity, fostering safe and nurturing home environments, and connecting families to community resources and services.

If you are passionate about supporting children and families, believe in strengths-based and family-centred practice, and enjoy working collaboratively with community partners to create meaningful change, this opportunity offers the chance to make a lasting impact in your community.

This role is well suited for a professional who is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, highly organized, and committed to helping families build resilience and achieve positive outcomes.

As part of Cochrane's Family Resource Network and family support services, you will work alongside families, community organizations, health providers, Alberta Children's Services, and other partners to help ensure children and caregivers receive the support they need to thrive.

Please note: This is a term position until March 31, 2028, with possibility of extension.

Your Impact

As the Family Support Home Visitor, you will work alongside families to identify strengths, address challenges, and build the skills and supports needed to promote healthy child development and family well-being.

Through home-based services, parent education, coaching, advocacy, and community connections, you will help families achieve their goals while creating safe, supportive, and nurturing environments where children can thrive.

Working closely with Cochrane FCSS, Alberta Children's Services, Family Resource Network (FRN) partners, and other community organizations, you will contribute to a coordinated system of support for families throughout Cochrane and West Rocky View County.

Your Work Will Include
  • Delivering strengths-based home visitation services that support positive child development, enhance parenting capacity, and help families achieve their goals.
  • Providing parent education, coaching, and practical support related to child development, attachment, positive parenting, emotional regulation, safety, and family well-being.
  • Supporting developmental screening, identifying family needs, and facilitating connections to community resources and specialized services as appropriate.
  • Helping families navigate services, reduce barriers, and access supports that promote healthy outcomes for children and caregivers.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential documentation, records, reports, and program statistics in accordance with legislative and funding requirements.
  • Collaborating with FCSS, FRN partners, Alberta Children's Services, and community agencies to provide coordinated and responsive support.
  • Participating in case consultation, program planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Building strong partnerships within the community and promoting Home Visitation and Family Resource Network programs and services.
  • Maintaining professional boundaries and ensuring compliance with organizational policies, privacy legislation, health and safety standards, and mandatory reporting responsibilities.
