P&S Care & Support are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Practitioner to join a specialist service supporting women facing homelessness, housing difficulties and a range of complex personal circumstances.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced support professional who wants to make a genuine difference to women who may be experiencing significant barriers to accessing appropriate accommodation and support.

About the role

Working as part of a specialist outreach team, you will provide practical and emotional support to women in the community, helping them to access appropriate services, address housing needs and work towards greater stability and independence.

The women you will support may have a range of additional needs, including poor mental health, substance misuse, social isolation, domestic abuse, exploitation or previous experiences of trauma.

You will develop positive and professional relationships with the women you support, taking a person-centred approach and ensuring that support is tailored to individual circumstances.

The role will also involve working closely with external agencies and professionals. You will help coordinate support, advocate for individuals and ensure that relevant services are working together effectively.

As a Senior Practitioner, you will have additional responsibility for supporting colleagues with complex cases and providing guidance around case management and client needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide outreach support to women with complex and multiple support needs.

• Develop trusting relationships and provide consistent, person-centred support.

• Assist individuals with housing-related needs and access to appropriate accommodation and services.

• Work alongside partner agencies and professionals to coordinate effective support.

• Advocate on behalf of clients where appropriate.

• Provide guidance and support to other members of the team.

• Assist with managing complex cases and ensuring appropriate action is taken.

• Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.

• Ensure safeguarding concerns and incidents are recorded and reported in line with relevant procedures.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.

• Contribute to team development, learning and good practice.

About you:

You will ideally have previous experience working in a senior or experienced practitioner role within a relevant support environment.

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience in areas such as homelessness, housing support, domestic abuse, mental health, substance misuse, exploitation, outreach or other services supporting people with complex needs.

You will need to be confident working with individuals who may be reluctant to engage with services and be able to establish professional relationships based on trust, respect and consistency.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals and organisations.

You should also be comfortable working independently, managing your own workload and making appropriate decisions when dealing with complex situations.

A good understanding of safeguarding and risk management is essential.

The role

This is primarily a frontline position and will involve working across office and community locations. There is also an element of home working.

Flexibility is required, as the role may involve early morning outreach work and occasional late evenings depending on service requirements.
