Project Development Internship

Business in Focus is one of Wales’ leading social enterprises, supporting entrepreneurs and businesses to start, grow and succeed. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Project Development Intern to support the delivery of Big Ideas Wales, a programme helping young people develop entrepreneurial skills and explore self-employment opportunities.

Working closely with the Project Manager and the Big Ideas Wales team, you will contribute to an exciting research project focused on engaging young people across Wales. This hands‑on internship provides an opportunity to gain valuable experience in research, stakeholder engagement, marketing and project delivery while helping shape future entrepreneurship support services.

• Support the delivery of a research project focused on young people and entrepreneurship.
• Engage directly with groups of young people to gather feedback, insights and research information.
• Travel across South Wales to visit youth centres, sports clubs, community groups and other organisations.
• Raise awareness of Big Ideas Wales through existing networks and community contacts.
• Help develop social media ideas and content that resonates with young audiences.
• Work collaboratively with the Big Ideas Wales team to identify opportunities to improve the programme and increase engagement.

• Confident and engaging communicator.
• Comfortable speaking to groups of people and building relationships.
• Positive attitude with a proactive, can-do approach.
• Eagerness to learn and contribute to a meaningful project.
• Fluent Welsh speaker with strong written communication skills.
• Access to a vehicle and a full, clean driving licence.

• Experience working on a meaningful research and engagement project.
• Exposure to marketing, stakeholder engagement and project delivery activities.
