About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Child Protection Officer to join their fully remote Community & Social Care team, supporting families in the Paarl region. This critical role involves assessing risks, developing safety plans, and coordinating interventions to ensure the well-being and protection of children. You will work collaboratively with families, relevant agencies, and legal bodies, utilizing digital platforms for all communication and case management.

• Conduct remote risk assessments and investigations related to child welfare concerns.
• Develop and implement comprehensive child safety and protection plans.
• Provide support and guidance to families to enhance child safety and family functioning.
• Liaise with relevant government departments, law enforcement, and legal services to ensure child protection protocols are followed.
• Maintain detailed, confidential case files and prepare reports for court or relevant authorities.
• Offer crisis intervention and support services to children and families in need.

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Law, or a related field.
• Professional registration with the relevant South African council (e.g., SACSSP for Social Workers).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in child protection, child welfare, or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of child protection laws, policies, and procedures.
• Excellent remote communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
• Proficiency in using secure digital case management systems and virtual communication tools.
