About the Role

• Assess the needs of individuals and families, providing information and referrals to relevant social services and community resources.
• Offer emotional support and guidance to clients navigating challenging circumstances.
• Assist clients in accessing essential services such as healthcare, housing, education, and employment opportunities.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, community partners, and service providers.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting interactions and progress.
• Plan and facilitate group activities or workshops aimed at community empowerment and well-being, both virtually and in person.

• Previous experience in social work, community support, counseling, or a related field.
• Excellent interpersonal and active listening skills, with a demonstrated ability to empathize with diverse populations.
• Strong understanding of community resources and social services available in the Soweto area.
• Proficiency in using virtual communication tools and basic computer applications for record-keeping.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload, while also collaborating with a team in a hybrid work structure.
