• Job Band H (hourly wages):
  Min - $30.11, Mid - $32.69, Max - $37.06

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Provides intensive home-based support to individuals and assists them to develop and execute strategies to promote housing stability.
• Works in partnership with community agencies to gain resources and supports to maintain basic needs and improve quality of life for individual participants.
• Engages in creative problem-solving to address individual needs, systemic barriers, and service gaps. Assists in referral and access of services as required.
• Works in alignment with the Agency’s commitment to equity to further create a sense of belonging at the Agency.
• The above tasks are representative but not all inclusive.

• At least 5 years of demonstrated experience working collaboratively with Indigenous organizations, communities, or populations, with a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and values.
• A degree or diploma in social services with relevant experience working with local Indigenous organizations.
• Experience working in community-based settings with Indigenous populations using a person-centered approach in supportive counselling and case management.
• Possesses an awareness and understanding of the systemic barriers faced by Indigenous peoples in accessing housing opportunities.
• This includes understanding the impact of intergenerational trauma, and sound knowledge of the National Commission on Truth and Reconciliation and Jordan’s Principal.
• Ability to work autonomously and use sound judgment in decision-making is required.
• Knowledge of the local housing market, Housing First principles, and community services within Waterloo Region.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Reliable transportation is essential for this position.
• Required to hold a “G” class license and a two-million-dollar liability policy as part of personal car insurance.
