Disability Support Specialist

Our client is looking for a dedicated Disability Support Specialist to join their remote team, serving the Bloemfontein community. This role focuses on empowering individuals with disabilities by providing tailored support, advocacy, and resources to enhance their independence and quality of life. You will work closely with clients and their families through virtual platforms, developing personalized support plans and connecting them with essential services and opportunities.

The ideal candidate is empathetic, resourceful, and skilled in remote client engagement and support coordination, contributing to a more inclusive society within the Free State .

• Conduct remote assessments to understand the specific needs and goals of individuals with disabilities.
• Develop and implement individualized support plans, coordinating services such as therapy, education, and employment assistance.
• Provide guidance and advocacy for clients navigating disability services and benefits.
• Facilitate virtual connections to community resources and support networks.
• Maintain confidential client records and monitor progress towards stated goals.
• Educate clients and families on rights, available resources, and self-advocacy techniques.

• Degree or relevant certification in Social Work, Psychology, Disability Studies, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with various disabilities.

• Strong advocacy skills and knowledge of disability rights and services.
