Social Worker - Community Programs

Our client is seeking an experienced and empathetic Social Worker to lead community-focused programs in Tembisa . This role is central to connecting individuals and families with essential social services, providing counseling, and developing initiatives that foster community resilience and well-being. You will play a critical part in assessing social needs, offering crisis intervention, and facilitating access to resources within the Gauteng province.

The ideal candidate is passionate about social justice, possesses strong advocacy skills, and is adept at navigating complex social systems to achieve positive outcomes for the community.

• Conduct psychosocial assessments to identify client needs and develop tailored intervention plans.
• Provide individual, family, and group counseling services to address various social and emotional challenges.
• Connect clients with relevant community resources, support groups, and government assistance programs.
• Develop, implement, and manage new community outreach programs and initiatives.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
• Collaborate with other professionals, community organizations, and stakeholders to coordinate care and advocate for clients.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work (BSW or MSW).
• Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• Proven experience as a Social Worker , with a strong understanding of community dynamics and social welfare systems.
• Excellent counseling, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in program development and community engagement.
• Ability to manage a caseload and work effectively in a demanding, sometimes challenging, environment in Tembisa .
