Zed is on a mission to build the world’s most advanced code editor, and we believe the best experiences come from designers who are also builders.

We’re looking for a designer who codes.

Someone who is in a codebase every day and deeply feels the reality of developer tools firsthand.

You'll help us craft Zed, making it even more beautiful, powerful, simple to use, and a true piece of art.

• Own the end-to-end user experience, ensuring Zed feels intuitive, cohesive, and awesome to use for developers
• Design simple, effective, and clean interfaces that empower developers and scale
• Help shape the product roadmap and build a strong vision, guiding the team toward it
• Work directly in Zed's Rust codebase while collaborating (lots of pair programming) with a small team of engineers to fully implement the features you designed
• Maintain and evolve Zed’s design system to make building Zed smooth and easy
• You love designing prototypes using AI as much as working in Figma
• You're detail-oriented and have great taste
• You enjoy operating on the bleeding edge, work well with ambiguity, and ship
• Familiarity with the Rust programming language
