BRMS​/Drools; Java Developer

We’re seeking a BRMS / Drools Developer with strong Java expertise to design and implement complex business-rule solutions for enterprise‑scale systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on translating business logic into elegant, maintainable rules and integrating them seamlessly into modern Java applications.

• Design, develop, and optimize business rules using the Drools Rule Engine, integrating these rules into Java/Spring Boot enterprise applications.
• Develop and implement Decision Model and Notation (DMN) models and complex event processing (CEP) features using Drools Fusion.
• Build and maintain microservice architectures, ensuring seamless integration of rule‑based services.
• Containerize and deploy Drools applications using Docker and manage them in AWS cloud environments.
• Configure, tune, and maintain application servers such as Wild Fly (JBoss AS) and Tomcat.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Business Analysts and Product Managers, to translate complex business logic into executable rules.
• Implement and maintain automated test suites to validate rule execution and ensure system stability.
• Monitor, optimize, and continuously improve rule performance and scalability.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Java development with a strong focus on the Drools Rule Engine.
• Hands‑on experience with Drools Workbench, KIE Execution Server, and KIE APIs.
• Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Strong understanding of rule‑based systems, decision tables, and rule optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and test automation frameworks (JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber).

• Experience with Red Hat Decision Manager (RHDM) or other enterprise BRMS tools.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git Hub Actions) and infrastructure as code.
• Exposure to performance tuning, rule versioning, and governance in production environments.
• Familiarity with API integration and REST‑based decision services.

This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must be based in regions that align with the Pacific, Central, or Eastern U.S. time zones to ensure effective collaboration with client and team schedules.
