Job Title: Java Mid-Level Developer (Remote)

Job DescriptionThe client is seeking to fill a short‑term contractor assignment. The selected candidate will fill the role of Java Mid-Level Developer on the client Traffic Records Systems (TRS) team. The candidate will serve as a Java Mid-Level Technical Specialist, back filling the current team for the eCrash/client‑CRIS project. TRS supports Crash Data Management and Traffic Safety in collecting, analysing, and distributing motor vehicle accident information.
The chosen candidate will be part of the application maintenance team serving as a technical specialist and consultant by independently managing complex Java projects and providing critical second‑level 24×7 on‑call support.
- Work with Business Owners in translating customer requests into technical requests and user stories; coordinate software release schedules with Business and Technical Teams; develop business requirements; provide testing and training support. Must have proven experience with enterprise‑level software development programmes.
- Java/JEE, Oracle, and XML – 3+ years (Required)
- Web Services, JSP, Servlets, Spring, Struts, Eclipse IDE, and version control tools – 3+ years (Required)
- Application analysis and design, cost analysis, estimating staffing needs, testing, documentation, and implementation – 3+ years (Required)
- Technical helpdesk support – 3+ years (Required)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Math, Engineering or related discipline (Required)
- Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Required)
- Effective communications in oral and written form (Required)
- Java Certification (Desired)
- Visual C++, .NET, CORBA, EJB, Hibernate (Desired)
