As a Staff Software Engineer in our EDU division, you will play a key role in designing and delivering high‑impact solutions across our platform. You’ll work hands‑on across the stack to solve complex problems, contribute to technical direction, and mentor other engineers all while keeping code quality, performance, and scalability top of mind.

While many of our roles are located in Puerto Rico, some are also located at RV’s main campus south of Charlotte, NC, or are remote-based.
As a requirement for this role, the selected candidate must be based in Puerto Rico. We are seeking individuals who are currently residing on the island or are willing to relocate to Puerto Rico. This location-based requirement is essential to foster our commitment to local talent and contribute to the economic growth of Puerto Rico. This role requires a hybrid schedule and will be based out of our San Juan, Puerto Rico office with in‑office Monday‑Thursday and fully remote work on Fridays each week.

What You'll Do
- Deliver high‑quality, scalable full‑stack solutions using Next.js, React, Type Script, and Tailwind CSS.
- Build and maintain robust backend services using Node.js, with a strong focus on performance, maintainability, and reliability.
- Work hands‑on with cloud infrastructure (AWS) to design and deploy secure, observable, and cost‑effective services.
- Contribute to infrastructure‑as‑code using tools like AWS CDK or Terraform.
- Lead complex technical projects from inception to delivery, collaborating across engineering, product, and design.
- Participate in architectural discussions and provide informed input into system design decisions.
- Collaborate with Principal and Lead Engineers to uphold technical quality and delivery consistency across teams.
- Identify and fix critical technical debt and lead meaningful refactors that improve system health and velocity.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and design sessions.
- Advocate for engineering best practices around testing, observability, documentation, and secure coding.
What We're Looking For:
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong command of modern full‑stack development.

- Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills, with a get‑it‑done mindset.
- Excellent communication and teamwork, with a bias for clear, constructive collaboration.
