We are looking for a Middle Java Engineer
tojoinus aspart ofour team.

You’ll join a highly skilled engineering team working on one of the core areas of our Platform that powers complex search and data exploration workflows. This role is crucial to the team’s success, directly contributing to the quality and impact of our product delivery.

You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and data engineers to build and optimize high-performance APIs and backend services that support real-time search, data aggregation, and rich visual insights.

The project focuses on screeners, search result pages, pivots, charts, and other interactive features that help users discover, filter, and analyze large datasets efficiently.

Currently, the team is actively developing new capabilities, improving search performance, and modernizing backend architecture to enhance scalability and ensure low-latency search experiences.

Pitch Book is a leading analytical platform designed for investment professionals. It aggregates data from diverse sources and presents it in a user-friendly manner, empowering startups, large corporations, venture capital and private equity firms, investment banks, and market analysts to make informed decisions.

Work Environment

Flexible working schedule with participation in daily and planning meetings

• Design and maintain backend services and APIs
• Participate in architecture and technical discussions
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
• Collaborate with QA and FE teams to ensure quality delivery
• Improve system performance, reliability, and automation
• Contribute in team ceremonies and code reviews

• Strong knowledge of Java 17+ and Spring Boot (MVC, JDBC, Security)
• Experience with Postgre
  
  SQLDesign and maintain backend services and APIs
• Familiarity with distributed systems and event-driven architecture (Kafka)
• Hands-on experience with Clouds (GCP ) and Kubernetes
• Understanding of RESTful API design and OpenAPI
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, ELK Stack)
• English Upper-Intermediate (B2 or higher);
  Ukrainian – fluent
• Strong communication and ownership mindset
• Team collaboration in a distributed setup
• Analytical and proactive problem-solving skills
