** None/Not Required We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Embedded Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design, develop, and verify real-time embedded software for cutting-edge flight-critical aviation applications. Your work will shape the future of aerospace technology through innovative software solutions. As a key technical leader, you will drive software architecture creation, lead verification activities in compliance with DO-178B/C, and work in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software.

This is an opportunity to contribute to state-of-the-art aerospace applications while mentoring and guiding other engineers in best practices.

Ideally, this will be a fully onsite role based in Windsor Locks, CT. Will consider candidates for a hybrid position (combination of onsite and remote work - weekly onsite presence will be required).
** What You Will Do
*** Requirements Engineering, Implementation, and Verification
* Translate customer requirements into actionable software requirements.
* Design and implement software solutions that meet performance, safety, and reliability standards.
* Conduct low-level verification activities to ensure compliance with DO-178B/C.
* Review software design and code to confirm alignment with software requirements.
* Generate, execute, and review test scripts and data for software verification.
* Create documentation to support aerospace certification processes.
* Propose enhancements to improve the cost, quality, and efficiency of software products.
* Develop and execute build procedures for hardware and software integration.
* Establish and maintain software configuration management and quality standards.
* Mentor and train software engineers in tools, processes, and industry best practices.
** Qualifications You Must Have
*** Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
** Qualifications We Prefer
*** Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
* Experience with aerospace or other safety-critical embedded systems.
* Expertise in designing and developing embedded software architectures for real-time systems.
* Hands-on experience with DO-178B/C processes, including software verification and compliance.
* Proven ability to lead projects across functional teams and geographic locations.
* Proficiency in software debugging, instrumentation, and performance analysis.
* Programming experience in C, Assembly, and/or Python.
* Familiarity with tools such as logic analyzers and other lab test equipment.
* Experience with software verification testing.
