The Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) - AI Factory (AIF) team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to join our team as we push the boundaries of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and full stack engineering. As a leader in this field, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the development and implementation of cutting‑edge AI solutions.

What you’ll be doing
  • Leading a team of AI Factory engineers to set priorities and execute work within the team vision.
  • Collaborating with a diverse team of data engineers, AI/ML developers, full‑stack developers, MLOps teams, and product managers to drive innovation and growth.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to drive team performance and achieve business objectives.
  • Fostering a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning within the team.

Basic

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in technical leadership.
  • 1+ year of management experience:
    Demonstrated management experience in managing high‑performing teams, with a focus on AI engineering, software development, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills:
    Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
Desired Skills
  • Experience in AI Engineering discipline and familiarity with Lockheed Martin’s AI initiatives.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Go, Python, Java, or C++.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., Tensor Flow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn).
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git, Git Lab).
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization.
  • Experience with large language models, natural language processing, computer vision, or other AI applications.
  • Familiarity with model interpretability, explainability, and transparency.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions.

Ability to Work Remotely: Full‑time Remote Telework – The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five‑day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time Off benefits. Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
