York Solutions is hiring Ruby on Rails Developer in remote or onsite capacity. This is a direct contract opportunity with York. Third party resources are not eligible for this role.

Ruby on Rails Developer

Remote

$65-$75 an hour W2 (Depends on Experience)

• Design, develop, and deploy enhancements to existing Ruby on Rails applications.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and project managers to define technical requirements and deliverables.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices in Rails development.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.
• Ensure application performance, scalability, and security across all environments.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers as needed.
• Support troubleshooting and production issue resolution.
• Work closely with QA and Dev Ops teams to ensure smooth deployment cycles and version control management.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Ruby on Rails in a production environment.
• Strong understanding of Postgre
  
  SQL, MySQL, or other relational databases.
• Proficiency with JavaScript (ES6+), React, or Vue.js for front‑end integration.
• Experience with REST APIs, background jobs (Sidekiq, Resque), and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with Docker, AWS, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented design, testing frameworks (RSpec, Minitest), and Git workflows.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
