Five Q is looking for an experienced Software Developer to work as a Contractor on our Python/Django projects. Our developers work on small to large, CMS‑centric websites. This position focuses mostly on the “backend” code, although experience with “frontend” technology is required. Technologies we use on a daily basis include Python, Django, Linux (mostly CentOS and Ubuntu), MySQL, Postgre

SQL, memcached, celery, nginx, Apache, gunicorn, jQuery, and Haystack/SOLR. We also use Geo Django, Wowza, Amazon EC2, jQuery Mobile, and other top‑notch tools. Our primary source control system is git, although svn, bzr, and hg are not uncommon. Our developers use Mac OS X and Linux.

The immediate opportunity is for a project that will be 30-40 hours per week, for 3 months, beginning as soon as possible. If the work is a good fit for both of us, then a longer‑term contract is a possibility at the conclusion of the 3 months. There may also be potential for a future full time permanent position as well.

The initial project is for a client with a worldwide ministry presence. This client has a complex codebase, so you will find the work both challenging and rewarding. You will be collaborating on a team with a Software Architect, another Django Dev, and an Account Manager.

This position reports to the Web & Mobile Director.

• Demonstrated ability to develop interactive, database‑driven websites with Django.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in computer programming.
• Experience with other programming languages and frameworks is a plus.
• Experience in marketing, ministries, non‑profits, or business is a plus.
• Each candidate will be required to complete a Django programming test to make sure that your skills meet our project needs.
