In 2023, the Ohio Aerospace Institute (OAI) became wholly affiliated with Parallax, expanding our services to include space and aerospace technology research and workforce development.

As a Software Developer, you will collaborate with other developers, researchers, program managers, and clients to provide software research and development based on project needs.

Your role includes developing software, conducting research, providing analysis and recommendations, designing algorithms, and configuring infrastructure.

Typical daily tasks include:

  • Developing software to support research and development needs, including creating system requirements, designing algorithms, implementing prototypes, and documenting processes.
  • Providing analysis, evaluation, and recommendations to improve algorithms and software tools.
  • Supporting research reports and presentations for project reviews, technology transfer, and dissemination.
  • Designing and configuring research algorithms and infrastructure tools (e.g., Docker, external libraries).
  • Participating in project analysis and evaluation efforts.

Ideal candidates possess:

  • TS/SCI Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5 years of software development experience
  • Strong skills in C++ on Linux RHEL
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred skills include:

  • MS, Ph.D., or 5+ years of experience in related fields
  • Experience with software engineering practices (issue tracking, version control, CI)
  • Current DAF experience, CAC, SIPRNet, JWICS access
  • Knowledge of Java, Python, SQL
  • Research experience in AI or knowledge-based systems
