Role Overview

The Core Scribd team builds full‑stack features for a research journey that helps users find and parse the right document. You’ll work across React UIs, distributed back‑end services, product, design, AI/ML, and infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Design and PM on new frontend features using React/Next.js, Graph
  
  QL, Typescript, and Ruby on Rails.
• Contribute to a shared design system and improve frontend infrastructure.
• Maintain and improve our backend in‑document search service and spin up new services as needed in Python.
• Collaborate with Data/ML and Content Pipeline teams to build new features and enhance the document ingestion infrastructure.

Requirements (Required)

• Strong understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks, especially React.
• 3–5 years of experience working across the stack, especially React, Nextjs & Ruby on Rails.
• Experience with database technologies (SQL, Postgres and MySQL).
• Understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with performance, accessibility, and SEO principles across the stack.
• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with design, product, and other engineering teams.
• A thoughtful approach to code quality, maintainability, and documentation.

Bonus Points (Optional)

• Experience with Node and Go services.

Compensation & Equity

San Francisco: $119,000 – $185,500 (US). Outside California: $98,000 – $176,500 (US). Canada: $124,500 – $165,000 CAD. Competitive equity and comprehensive benefits.
