Software Engineer, Full Stack Developer

Gloss Genius is building an ecosystem enabling entrepreneurs to succeed by offering business management tools including booking and scheduling, marketing, analytics, payment processing and more. We serve tens of thousands of customers and handle billions of transaction volumes on our platform. We are building AI features to transform how our customers operate and grow their businesses.

We are seeking strong Software Engineers, All levels to join one of our Product- or Platform-based teams. Product-focused engineers work at the intersection of business needs and technical solutions;
Platform-focused engineers build scalable, reliable, and extensible systems that empower product teams to move faster and deliver value to customers.

You must be commutable to our NYC headquarters (Union Square) and will operate in a hybrid environment with 2 days per week in the office (Tuesdays & Thursdays).

We are open to candidates who know different programming languages and are excited to learn more and grow. Our current stack includes:

• Kotlin (Micronaut, JOOQ), Ruby (Rails, Sidekiq), gRPC, Protobuf
• React Native
• AWS, Kubernetes, Postgre
  
  SQL, Terraform

As a Software Engineer at Gloss Genius, you’ll play a critical role in shaping a platform that powers over 90,000 small businesses and processes billions in payments. You will work on high-impact initiatives with potential responsibilities including:

• Develop, release, and run large-scale web applications that empower beauty and wellness businesses to operate and grow.
• Build new AI features for our customers.
• Develop and define our microservice-based infrastructure.
• Create tools and solutions that enable internal teams to work faster and with greater confidence (Business Scalability).
• Improve core experiences such as payments, earning potential, and growth/management of teams for our clients.
• Focus on front-end development for intuitive web and mobile experiences.
• Improve performance, reliability, scalability, and security of backend systems.

• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong desire to move fast and make a meaningful impact.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ownership and willingness to contribute new ideas.
• Ability to analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of systems.
• Strong collaboration skills and team orientation.

The starting base salary for this role in New York is between $150,000-$230,000 with target equity and benefits. The base salary offered depends on factors including skills, experience, location, and education. This role participates in Gloss Genius’s equity plan and benefits within our total rewards offering.
