Mobile Tech Lead collaborates with stakeholders to evaluate organizational needs, define technical strategies, and clearly communicate the impact of decisions. Champion the end‑to‑end design and architecture of AARP Now iOS and Android mobile applications.

• Establishes a technical roadmap for the platform and/or capability strategy and lifecycle that considers value-based outcomes, costs to maintain, supportability, and performance.
• Ensures sound integration, data, security, and business architecture design throughout all stages within the platform and/or capability lifecycle.
• Provides rapid delivery and development of technical solutions that align with business and/or platform desired outcomes.
• Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues related to platform or capability systems, solutions, and services.
• Innovates and drives continuous improvements of implementation methodology and technical service offerings based on customer/employee experiences or other enterprise objectives/outcomes.
• Participates in a Community of Interest for engineers across all capability and platform teams to share information and strengthen understanding of business needs and technology-based business solutions.
• Develops and maintains deep technical knowledge and expertise related to domain area systems, solutions, services, and applications.

• 7+ years of native mobile engineering experience working with iOS and Android. Expertise in designing testable software and building large-scale, complex applications.
• Responsible for production and integration of Objective‑C/Swift and Java/Kotlin for projects ranging from simple prototypes to complex applications.
• Lead the development of our mobile applications (iOS, Android, React Native). Good debugging and profiling skills.
• Deep knowledge of performance, scalability, security and maintainability of high-volume mobile applications supported by AWS Cloud web‑services.
• Ability to lead and mentor mobile engineers through design, code reviews and engineering best practices.
• Coordinate and manage the development and maintenance for iOS and Android applications.
• A well-rounded understanding of a variety of mobile app frameworks and web services, working knowledge of common build tools, and understanding of iOS performance optimization best practices.
• An understanding of hardware compatibility and versioning strategy.
