As one of the fastest‑growing marketplaces, we’re looking for bold, forward‑thinking problem solvers across all functional areas. Check out our latest updates on our news and engineering blogs and join us as we enable anyone to turn their passion into a business and bring people together through commerce.

Role

The Payments – Treasury team at Whatnot is globally responsible for how our business moves and records money and credit in all customer transactions; and for ensuring that taxes, customs, returns, refunds, and more operate smoothly worldwide. We are deeply connected with the foundations of our business and have unlocked tremendous growth within and across international territories, while creating exciting new ways for our users to interact and transact on the platform.

You’ll collaborate closely with our partner team, Payments – Experience, and with other teams and senior leaders across Whatnot.

To keep the flywheel spinning, we’re looking to make substantial improvements to the critical infrastructure that supports payment scale and reliability, offers a diversity of payment options, mitigates fraud, and enhances transaction modelling and tax compliance to further provide a seamless international marketplace.

Each team member has individual responsibilities and is trusted to advance an aspect of the domain as an expert in collaboration with the leadership team. Your ability to make good trade‑offs, exercise sound judgment, and communicate effectively is essential to us.

We offer flexibility to work from home or our office hub, and value in‑person time for planning, problem‑solving, and connection. Team members in this role must live within commuting distance of our New York, Seattle, Los Angeles, or San Francisco hubs.
