The Junior Software Developer designs, develops, and maintains Wealth Counsel software applications, working with staff members. Responsibilities include coding, debugging, testing, troubleshooting, and contributing to moderately complex project aspects.

• Developing, enhancing, and maintaining web-based applications
• Working closely with a variety of team members to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
• Resolving problems with software and responding to suggestions for improvements and enhancements
• Proactively learning and utilizing new technologies, concepts and procedures as appropriate to project requirements
• Providing estimates for development tasks
• Developing source code and unit tests according to technical designs
• Participating in code reviews
• Contributing to technical documentation

• Strong skills in programming, debugging and REST API
• Solid understanding of systems and subsystems
• Strong understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery principles
• Demonstrated knowledge of applicable software, computer languages, and code to perform the responsibilities of the role
• Demonstrated aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies and programming languages

• Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science or equivalent on-the-job experience
• 1-2 years of experience with Java
• 1+ year of experience with JavaScript application development
• Knowledge of internet client/server technologies

• Experience with AWS services and agile development

This is a virtual, full-time position. You will work remotely from your home office, and occasional travel may be required for meetings, trade shows and training.
