Software Engineer Lead – Level 4 – R
Northrop Grumman is looking for a Software Engineer Lead – Level 4 – R to join our team in Aurora, Colorado. This position is eligible for telecommute work and will operate on a 9/80 schedule.

Key Responsibilities- Lead a small team of software developers to advance a new tool simulating data flow through a satellite network.
- Design and implement new software or modify existing software to add features.
- Evaluate architecture decisions, pinpoint pros and cons of approaches and technologies.
- Identify and fix bugs, ensuring impact to the application is considered.
- Develop tests that verify code correctness and meet system requirements.
- Design, develop, and modify software pipelines and deployment methods to automate processes.
- Collaborate with network specialists to ensure accurate simulation modeling.
- Mentor and task less experienced developers.
- Support and deliver technical updates to government customer.
- Lead efforts to transfer existing software tools and datasets from Unclassified to Classified environment.
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Level 4:
Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of software development experience;
Master’s 6+ years;
PhD 4+ years; or equivalent experience. - Minimum 3 years of professional Python development experience.
- Proficiency with Python, object‑oriented programming.
- Experience in software architecture design patterns.
- Experience with version control (Git/Gitlab).
- Experience with satellite systems and networking topology.
- Basic understanding of network stack and protocols.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals.
- STEM degree.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Experience with containerized software.
- Experience with Dev Ops fundamentals and software pipelines.
- Experience productizing software solutions.
- Experience leading junior developers.
- Experience with satellite network management and traffic topology.
