Backend Engineer III, Falcon NG-SIEM, Global Serverless Platform (Remote, East Coast) – Crowd Strike

About The Role:

As a global leader in cybersecurity, Crowd Strike protects the people, processes and technologies that drive modern organizations. Since 2011, our mission hasn’t changed – we’re here to stop breaches, and we’ve redefined modern security with the world’s most advanced AI-native platform.

We work on large scale distributed systems, processing almost 3 trillion events per day and this traffic is growing daily. Our customers span all industries, and they count on Crowd Strike to keep their businesses running, their communities safe and their lives moving forward.

The Global Serverless Platform team is responsible for building and operating the global- and region-level automation that will automatically manage the industry’s largest event data store and search system.

Our goals are to scale to hundreds of petabytes of data ingress per day while maintaining best-in-class ingest, search, and detection SLAs, as well as a best-in-class cost structure.

The team owns the regional control plane layer, account provisioning systems, and region-level integrations with the rest of the Falcon platform.

We are seeking an experienced Engineer III to join a distributed team of highly collaborative engineers. In this role you will work on hard engineering problems without well-defined solutions, become one of the go-to experts of the NG SIEM control plane, and gain a broad understanding of the entire NG SIEM data plane fleet.

What You’ll Do:
  • Work in a team of friendly, trustworthy, and knowledgeable colleagues.
  • Collaborate on cross-team platform-level initiatives and projects.
  • Participate in scoping, designing, and developing new features and lead delivery of solutions to open-ended problems.
  • Contribute to moving the scalability of our Log Scale engine to the next level.
  • Develop the control plane in Golang and extend the control plane capabilities to keep the scale with increasing platform demand while ensuring high availability.
  • Communicate technical decisions through design documents, technical talks, and improved internal documentation.
  • Provide technical advice on decisions, and research and propose new technologies.
  • Collaborate to deliver new solutions and support team members through code reviews, pairing, documentation, design reviews, and technical guidance.
  • Monitor and follow up on features released in production environments.
  • Troubleshoot critical production issues.
What You’ll Need:
  • A passion for or personal interest in distributed systems and curiosity about how our running systems perform.
  • Experience in software development and the ability to juggle pragmatic tradeoffs between short‑term delivery needs and long‑term product goals.
  • Experience in contributing to broad technical leadership in products or services.
  • Fluency in both functional and object‑oriented programming and the ability to pick up new languages quickly.
  • A can‑do attitude, thriving in collaboration, and not afraid to take on responsibilities.
Bonus Points:
  • Experience programming in Golang.
  • Experience with commercial clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with Kafka.
  • Hands‑on experience in large‑scale, distributed system architecture, high scalability and availability, and optimization.
  • Exposure to or experience with Log Management or cybersecurity products.
Additional Requirements:

This role requires the candidate to periodically undergo and pass additional background and fingerprint checks consistent with government customer requirements.

Benefits:
  • Remote‑friendly and flexible work culture.
  • Market leader in compensation and equity awards.
  • Comprehensive physical and mental wellness programs.
  • Competitive vacation and holidays for recharge.
  • Paid parental and adoption leaves.
  • Professional development opportunities for all employees.
  • Employee networks, geographic neighborhood groups, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Vibrant office culture with world‑class amenities.
  • Great Place to Work Certified™ across the globe.

Crowd Strike is proud to be an equal‑opportunity employer. We are committed to fostering a culture of belonging where everyone is…
