About The Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join us in building the new financial platform for Chime. This platform will power the most important financial activities that millions of Chime members leverage every day. In this role, you will collaborate with various teams to assess and address potential failure scenarios, implement essential technology foundations to enhance resilience, develop event‑streaming infrastructure, and implement security features with the product security team.

You will ensure a lightning‑fast, available, secure, and auditable platform.

Base Salary

Level‑based base salary begins at $157,590 and up to $218,900. Full‑time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits.

In this role, you can expect to

• Deliver complex projects using Go.
• Collaborate with other teams to design, develop, test, and deploy tools, libraries, and services that solve cross‑cutting problems.
• Enable fellow engineers to develop faster and more efficiently.
• Lead best practices to promote a culture of engineering excellence.
• Deliver secure, reliable, and high‑performance infrastructure and APIs.
• Work with our infrastructure engineering team to minimize the operational overhead of production systems we deploy.

To thrive in this role, you have

• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience in Go; additional backend languages such as Ruby, Java or Python are preferred.
• Experience with AWS (or other cloud platforms), especially with Kinesis, Dynamo
  
  DB, and Amazon EKS.
• A strong curiosity about how systems work and a desire to learn.
• Designed, developed, and supported large‑scale distributed systems.
• Experience in observability and monitoring of production systems.
• A deep understanding of architectural patterns for large, mission‑critical production services.
• Comfort with solving complex, poorly defined problems and thriving in an iterative, problem‑solving environment.
• A rigorous approach to testing code and experience in continuous integration/deployment environments.
