Senior Java Engineer - remote, EU

Our client is a leading supplier of software products in the field of eCustoms internationally.

The company supplies software products and IT services to European Union Institutions and Agencies, international organisations and national government administrations.

The company employs over 1100 engineers, IT experts and consultants (around 3% PhD, 41% MSc and 54% BSc or equivalent). The group’s staff is multilingual and multinational with in-depth experience in the delivery of services to the government sector worldwide.

Currently we are looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join the team as a long-term Contractor (B2B) / Freelancer.

• Craft Cutting-Edge Applications: Develop powerful, efficient back-end web applications that drive our business forward.
• Architect & Build: Design and implement core business logic, creating high-performance servers and databases.
• Enhance Security & Performance: Ensure our systems are secure, reliable, and optimized across multiple platforms.
• API Development: Design and develop APIs that enable seamless communication between systems.
• Collaborate on Scalable Solutions: Work alongside other developers to create scalable software solutions.
• Lead Projects: Take charge of key projects, guiding them from concept to completion.
• Maintain & Improve Code Quality: Keep our codebase organized and pristine while fixing bugs and enhancing functionality.
• Troubleshoot & Optimize: Analyze data, processes, and code to identify areas for improvement and troubleshoot issues.
• Write Documentation: Contribute to creating clear technical documentation for current and future reference.

• A university degree in IT
• Expertise in IT: min 9 years of professional experience in development.
