Beacon Technologies is seeking a .Net Web Developer for our client partner. The senior level .NET Web Developer designs, develops, and implements web-based applications using .NET framework to support business requirements. Includes the use of related development technologies such as ASP.NET, MVC, .NET CORE and supported programming languages (e.g. C#, C++, bootstrap) and scripting languages (e.g. Type Script, JavaScript).

Performs development of front‑end and back‑end development of web applications and web API's (web services). Follows approved life cycle methodologies, creates documentation, and performs application coding and testing. Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation. Requires a bachelor's or associate degree in area of specialty or 6+ years of experience in the field or in a related area. Experience with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Can perform with no direct supervision, code is reviewed by team. Reviews junior developer’s code.

This position is primarily to work on a high‑profile web application project. The projects are underway and include .NET MVC and .NET 8 web applications with some use of JavaScript, Blazor, and Kendo UI components, and the candidate will be joining an existing team. The project is 99% modernized off of legacy mainframe applications to web applications using ASP.NET MVC with C#, WebAPI, n‑tier architecture and SQL Server.

This developer will work on other projects as needed.

The person in this position will work closely with the team in designing and developing the front end and server side of the web application. Project duties include requirements analysis, design, front‑end and back‑end web application development, testing, participation in interactive code reviews, and development using JavaScript, ASP.NET MVC with C#, with SQL Server, DB2, and Oracle databases. Expectations for this position are development of quality code using TDD, participation in active code reviews, sharing expertise, respectful communication, transparency, technical documentation, and the ability to perform production support.

Top desired skills required for the position:

Preference will be given for familiarity with automated testing methodologies, Git Lab or Jenkins or other continuous integration platforms, and solid coding experience using TDD.

Knowledge of programs, prior experience with the Wisconsin CARES system, and familiarity with application systems, procedures, and development standards is highly preferred and familiarity with Child Care applications is a plus. In addition to our main applications running on C# .NET 6 MVC, and older apps running on  Web Forms, we also have other existing projects and new projects planned that would benefit from:

  • DB2 Mainframe experience, COBOL language, or experience modernizing mainframe COBOL applications into .NET or other modern languages.
  • xPression experience.
  • iOS, Objective‑C, and Swift experience.
  • Front‑end web app UI design experience.
  • Front‑end web frameworks including:
    Angular, React, Vue.js, Alpine.js, Blazor Server, or similar.
  • Kendo UI experience.
  • Crystal Reports or Telerik Reports experience.
  • Familiarity with applications running in IIS.
  • Familiarity with Power Shell and/or experience with configuring CI/CD pipelines and Azure Dev Ops Artifacts.
  • The candidate should have strong communication skills and should be a team player.

  • Experience with the Wisconsin CARES system and familiarity with State of Wisconsin application systems – Must Have 5 years.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills. Has provided production support to applications post‑production – Must Have 6 years.
  • Experience writing clear and concise technical documentation and communication – Must Have 5 years.
  • Excellent clear and concise communication skills, written and verbally – Must Have 6 years.
