The Role

At Cloverleaf, we’re not simply creating working systems – we’re solving problems and bringing delight to our users. We balance close collaboration with independent work to get the job done with excellence. This role is responsible for leading and implementing complex software projects within the business and operational environment of a scaling startup.

What You’ll Do

Product Development (70%)

  • Influence product and technical roadmaps and project details alongside other members of the product team.
  • Define and deliver thin, iterative slices of functionality to production, role-modeling and helping to lead the team around direction and delivery of the same.
  • Partner with others on the team, including mentorship, conducting merge reviews, un-blocking teammates, and helping to up-level the team.
  • Write clean, efficient, well-tested code that reflects industry best-practices and internal engineering principles within the context of the existing codebase.
  • Plan and build new work with an eye to improvement of codebase health, operational requirements, and enabling future capabilities.

Operational Support (20%)

  • Provide technical support and bug fixes for Cloverleaf software in production.
  • Play a role in a rotating support cadence, coordinating with Customer Success, translating the technical to the operational, and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Successfully identify and fix root causes of complex issues.
  • Propose ways that engineering can invest to eliminate toil (i.e., documentation, technical debt resolution, administrative functionality).

Team/Organizational Improvements (10%)

  • Influence engineering culture and codebase health; up-level team standards, bridge across departments, bring process improvements and other ideas into the product department, and bring useful improvements into our codebases.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the supervisor may be needed as we are a fast-growing startup company.
Benefits
  • Flexible PTO and work schedule (truly) – with a minimum of 2 full weeks off per year.

  • Truly values-driven team (ask us about it!)
