The Java team provides core components to our gaming infrastructure. We work closely with Live Ops managers, game developers, SDK and data teams to align technical solutions with business needs while providing services to millions of players.

As a Staff Engineer, you will be a key technical leader in our Live Ops squad, driving architectural decisions, optimising systems, and mentoring engineers. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and scaling critical back‑end services that support millions of players daily. We are looking for someone with proven expertise in software engineering and a drive to have impact and learn fast. You’re not just ticking boxes—you’re curious, ambitious, and excited by the challenge of making games that millions will love.

• 10+ years experience in Java or another JVM language.
• Proven ability to design and optimise high‑performance, scalable systems handling millions of daily requests.
• Hands‑on experience with mobile gaming, multiplayer services, and/or Live Ops.
• Ability to own high‑level technical decisions and align architecture with business goals.
• Strategic Mindset – proactive in diagnosing and resolving complex issues.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.

• Deep knowledge of the Spring Framework.
• Expertise in resilient software design and fault‑tolerant architectures.
• Understanding of stream processing (Kafka, Spark, etc.).
• Experience with key‑value stores (Redis, Dynamo
  
  DB, Aerospike, etc.).
• Strong background in microservice architecture patterns.
• Proficiency in test‑driven development (TDD) and automated testing.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestrators.
