Sr. .Net Developer

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a talented Senior .Net Developer

Location: Remote Department: Veterans Affairs (VA)
Type: Full Time

• Perform technical planning, detailed requirements definition, test planning, and execution (including use cases, test procedures, and test data).
  Software systems integration and technical support for system and subsystems.
• Deliver software system product services: concept design, testing, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
• Serve as an active member of the development team, participating in daily stand‑ups.
• Leverage full‑stack expertise to develop .Net back‑end applications using C#, unit testing (NUnit or similar), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness.
• Provide development support for solutions deployed to production.
• Implement long‑term solutions and reusable building blocks within an Agile framework.
• Interface with stakeholders for project requirements.
• Promote software engineering best practices such as test automation, modularization, and simplification.
• Collaborate and coordinate with colleagues on solutions and problems.
• Document software designs, including design diagrams, data flow diagrams, and module descriptions.
• Use IDE tools such as Visual Studio, Azure Dev Ops, and Git.

• Expertise in .Net Framework and .Net Core, with strong knowledge of C#.
• Proficiency in MVC architecture for back‑end applications.
• Deep understanding of OOP and design patterns.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and other API technologies.
• Database design and development skill, including SQL Server and Entity Framework.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and services.
• Version control experience (Git, TFS/TFVC).
• CI/CD practices and tools (AWS Code Pipeline, Code Build, Code Deploy).
• Unit testing frameworks (NUnit, xUnit, MSTest).
• Proficiency with Visual Studio and VS Code.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Independent work ability and teamwork.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high quality.
• Mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior developers.
• Task prioritization and time management.
• Agile methodologies experience (Scrum, Kanban).
• Dev Ops and IaC familiarity.
• Security best practices for web applications and APIs.
• Code review and constructive feedback skills.
• Performance tuning and optimization of applications.
• Experience with third‑party libraries, SDKs, and APIs relevant to .Net.

Eight (8) or more years in software development using .Net technologies.

• Electronic Data Interchange X.12 (EDI) Medical Claims – 837, 834, 277, etc.
• Microservices architecture and containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS).

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or related technical discipline (with 8+ years experience).
• Master’s Degree in related discipline (with 5+ years experience).
• Ph.D. in related field (with 3+ years experience).

U.S. Citizenship is required for this opportunity.
