Software Engineer, PromptQL AI

We’re looking for a staff engineer to be a part of the core Prompt

QL team at Hasura ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).).

QL is redefining how AI systems should access data in a business context with an emphasis on visibility, steer‑ability, and repeatability.

Building on the foundation of Hasura’s Data Delivery Network (DDN), Prompt

QL is our flagship product. As part of a small, high‑impact team working directly with Prompt

QL leadership, you’ll help shape the product direction and deliver core functionality across AI, data, and infrastructure layers.

• Drive Product Direction:
  Analyze AI + data landscape to influence the evolution of Prompt
  
  QL.
• Define Features:
  Translate feedback from sales and GTM teams into actionable product features.
• Build the Core Stack:
  Rapidly design and implement features across the Prompt
  
  QL AI assistant, the Prompt
  
  QL data engine, and the Prompt
  
  QL runtime infrastructure.

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Ability to understand and work across complex systems end‑to‑end.
• Strong foundation in software engineering principles and adaptability across domains.
• A strong sense of ownership and comfort working in a fast‑paced, fluid environment.

• While experience working with LLMs is a big plus, we value strong foundational skills and the ability to learn quickly.

You can work remotely from select states in the US or in our office in San Francisco.

The compensation for this role ranges from $350,000 – $400,000 (including bonus) plus ESOPs.
