Senior .NET Backend Engineer – Billing Platform (Hybrid)
Join GEICO’s Billing Platform team as a Senior .NET Backend Engineer, working remotely and in office locations across the United States.
Base Pay Range$ – $ per year
Responsibilities- Design and develop high‑quality, scalable backend services for GEICO’s core Billing Application.
- Lead architectural decisions and execute low‑ and high‑level designs for distributed systems.
- Mentor and guide engineering teammates while fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Collaborate cross‑functional with product, design, and operations to deliver reliable platform features.
- Ensure code quality through reviews, automated tests, and observability practices.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks that could impact business goals.
- Champion technical excellence, defining engineering standards and promoting Dev Ops best practices.
- 4+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong experience architecting and designing large‑scale, complex systems.
- Proficient coding skills in .NET (C#) and/or Go, delivering production‑grade code.
- Experience with SQL, No
SQL databases, Kafka, Spark, Airflow, or similar technologies. - Deep expertise in cloud‑native Dev Ops tooling, observability, telemetry, and test automation.
- Deep familiarity with Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and automation frameworks.
- Strong communication skills, collaborating across engineering teams and business functions.
- Experience troubleshooting and monitoring with App Insights, Azure Monitor, or equivalent tools.
- Hands‑on experience with XML‑based data/file systems (XPath, XSD, .NET XML serialization).
- Financial technology experience, focusing on billing, payments, and subscription management.
- Advanced experience in the .NET ecosystem (C#, ASP.NET, Web API, REST).
- Proven track record designing and implementing workflow engines.
- Experience with modern continuous delivery and deployment practices (Agile, Git Hub Actions).
- Experience with AI‑assisted development tools such as Git Hub Copilot.
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Hybrid – Offices in Palo Alto, CA;
Dallas, TX;
Chevy Chase, MD. Candidates may work from any of the listed offices or remotely within the United States.
