The Cost Engineering Team is looking for a Software Engineer II to drive financial visibility, cost efficiency, and long‑term economic sustainability across our cloud infrastructure. You will combine engineering, data analysis, and financial insight to ensure that every technical decision upholds availability while preserving cost efficiency.

• Collaborate with your team’s tech lead and manager to break down large projects into tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and ensure timely completion.
• Work with product management, design, and analytics teams during ideation, articulate technical constraints, and partner on decisions that consider risks and trade‑offs.
• Support operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues when needed, and participating in on‑call “keep the lights on” efforts.
• Contribute to team community through growth and development activities, including participation in the interview process.

• 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems; proficiency in either Python or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and core technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Optional: experience building cost visibility via tagging and creating cost savings opportunities through cost analysis.
• Ability to take a simple problem or business scenario into a well‑tested, extensible solution that interacts with multiple software components.
• Comfort navigating a large codebase, debugging others’ code, and providing constructive feedback through code reviews.
• Proactive ownership of personal growth and willingness to seek feedback from team, manager, and stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration across a global engineering team.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.

Pay Grade: L
Equity Grade: 6

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness, and tech spending, and benefits (including 100 % subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents).

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $160,000 – $210,000
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $142,000 – $192,000
