The AI Initiative Research Assistant will join a dynamic team of policy experts leading the effort to improve American health policy for families and patients. A successful candidate will join Paragon’s new AI Initiative on the ground floor and will be at the cutting edge of leveraging the new capacities of artificial intelligence tools in health policy. The Paragon AI Initiative is spearheaded by Kev Coleman, America’s leading free‑market expert focused on ensuring responsible AI public policy that improves health care quality and lowers costs.

The AI Initiative Research Assistant will have the opportunity to broaden their knowledge of health policy and the policy making process while making significant contributions to health sector reform at the leading free market health policy research center in the country. This role has a competitive starting salary commensurate with experience. This position will be executed from Paragon’s headquarters in Arlington, VA, with flexibility to work from home on Fridays.

• Monitor and summarize new federal and state legislative proposals related to health care AI
• Monitor House and Senate announcements of hearings related to health care AI
• Maintain database on FDA‑approved AI‑enabled medical devices
• Monitor and summarize AI‑related announcements from the FDA, HHS, and CMS
• Monitor and summarize major state legislative proposals related to health care AI (or AI proposals that could affect health care AI)
• Assist with quality control by reviewing and editing research for accuracy and completeness
• Monitor and summarize major commercial news announcements regarding health care AI as well as breakthroughs from major generic AI developers
• Manage speaking and media inquiries for the initiative
• Assist in promotion of AI research papers, policy briefs, and public speaking

• Strong written and analytical skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Passion for contributing to Paragon’s mission and work Preferred
• Knowledge of AI basics as well as experience using one or more consumer AI tools
• 1 year of experience with data analysis or
• 3+ years of relevant work experience
• Undergraduate degree in health policy, computer science, engineering, game design, cognitive science, statistics, mathematics, economics or a similar field preferred
