Position: Senior Software Engineer - Remote - Appian Expertise Required

Summary

Responsible for designing, developing, and implementing enterprise-grade solutions using the Appian Low-Code Automation Platform. This role demands strong Java skills for creating Appian plug-ins and custom components and integrating with existing custom Java applications. Extensive experience in building scalable process applications, integrations, and automation workflows in Appian is required. Actively coaches, guides and mentors team members in providing valuable solutions to our customer.

• Has a deep understanding of the business processes and the technology platform that enables it.
• Translates stakeholder’s requirements into common language that can be adopted for the use with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) or Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Recommends new development strategies and procedure improvements to the development team.
• Works continually on improving performance of source code using industry standard methodologies.
• Participates in industry and other professional networks to ensure awareness of industry standards, trends and best practices in order to strengthen organizational and technical knowledge.
• Provide support to business users to assist with day to day production activities, as required.
• Promotes the establishment of group standards and processes. Participates in the Communities of Practice.
• Helps drive technology direction and choices of technologies by making recommendations based on experience and research.
• Actively coaches, mentors, and provides guidance to team members on leading technologies, methodologies, processes, and design patterns.

Qualifications / Education / Certifications

Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university; plus, six or >

years of related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

Prefer experience in Healthcare, PBM and / or ABM, workers’ compensation and / or insurance industry.

Required Experience

• 5+ Years Experience working with LCAP, BPA, or BRE platforms, with direct Appian experience is required, such as :
• Strong understanding of Appian components : SAIL, Records, Process Models, Reports, and Sites.
• Experience with Appian plug-in development using Java.
• Familiarity with Appian Dev Ops tools (e.g., Compare & Deploy Automated Testing Suite).
• Experience with RESTful APIs and Appian integration patterns.
• Appian Level 1 or Level 2 Developer Certification Preferred.
• Experience with Appian RPA, Appian Data Fabric, or Appian AI.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery in a low-code environment.
• 3+ years Java

• Strong understanding of SQL (selects, inserts, joins, stored procedures, functions)
