Radish Lab is a purpose-driven creative agency, shaping stories and sharpening brands for organizations improving the world.

We are seeking an experienced Word Press developer who is comfortable leading web projects. As a part of our development team you will work on numerous projects, translating design into clean and consistent code.

As a Word Press Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Word Press websites for our clients. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Word Press, Laravel, Sass, and JavaScript. Optional knowledge of the Sage theme framework is a plus.

As a remote position, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere. You will collaborate with our team of designers, developers, and project managers to create custom solutions for our clients. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently.

Contract type:
This is a remote full-time contract position. No agencies please.

Location:
Preferably Latin or South America. MUST be in a timezone within two hours of New York (EST). Others will NOT be considered.

• Bring to life carefully designed visual layouts and user interactions using Word Press and the Roots.io Sage approach to Word Press

• Work to understand the design and functionality of a website in progress to be able to ask good questions of the project managers and designers early in the process

• Support teammates and collaborate with a "do what it takes" attitude

• Effectively prioritize and execute tasks

• Display strong communication skills (both in person and in writing) while interacting with individuals with a range of technical understanding

• Know when to ask for help

• 5+ years of professional experience developing complex Word Press websites

• 5+ years of PHP and MySQL experience

• 3+ years of frontend development experience, using HTML5, CSS/SASS, JavaScript frameworks

• Experience with the MVC architectural pattern (Laravel, CakePHP, Code Igniter, etc.)

• Experience managing composer and node packages within a project

• Experience working with a Continuous Integration setup

• Experience working with a ticket manager and time tracking system

• Proficient in responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility best practices

• Experience with git through the console

• Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written English

• MUST be in a timezone within 2-3 hours of New York (EST). Others will NOT be considered.

• Experience in an agency environment

• Experience with the Roots.io Sage approach to Word Press

• Experience with JavaScript libraries such as React, Vue, or Angular

• Experience developing websites that meet WCAG AA compliance

• Experience with Advanced Custom Fields

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science

• Interested in social change, and engaged with causes
