About the Team

Door Dash is seeking a platform-oriented Engineering Manager to lead our Session Platform team within the Logistics org. Our goal is to build a scalable, reliable, and extensible global platform that powers the end-to-end lifecycle of the fulfillment and courier operations. This team sits at the heart of Door Dash’s fulfillment ecosystem, powering the delivery and courier data that drives our logistics engine.

We build the foundational models and workflows that enable our customer teams (Order, Shopping, and beyond) to build extensible solutions on top of the platform.

About the Role

As the manager of the Logistics Platform team, you will lead a team of backend engineers who solve high-visibility technical challenges for both the delivery and session platforms. You will lead the design and development of our next-generation fulfillment platform, a global engine that powers every fulfillment task with precision, scalability, and reliability. You’ll drive initiatives that ensure our platform can handle diverse logistics workflows, scale seamlessly with customer demand, and deliver exceptional quality across all operations.

You will be responsible for driving the technical vision, strategy, and execution of the team charter.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
  • Lead the technical vision, strategy, and execution of the team charter, working alongside cross-functional partners.
  • Passionate about building distributed logistics systems and thrive on the scale and complexity of a global platform.
  • Excited about digging into the gnarly problems of distributed systems and want to build systems that scale 100x.
  • Scale the team by growing internal talent and attracting world-class talent.
  • Grow in your career with unique and challenging opportunities to expand your skill set.
We’re excited about you because…
  • You’re an owner - driven, focused, and quick to take ownership of your work.
  • You are impact driven - you sign up for and drive high-business impact.
  • A strong hands-on technical leader and strong product sense.
  • Humble - you’re willing to get into the details and you’re open to feedback.
  • You have 2+ years of engineering leadership experience as an EM on a full-stack team.
  • You have 7+ years of industry experience.
  • You have experience navigating ambiguous business problems and tackling high-scale technical challenges.
