We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join our on‑site team in Zurich, Switzerland. The successful candidate will contribute to implementing, optimizing, and deploying AI and machine learning systems that power our next‑generation sports products. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role requiring deep technical expertise, strong problem‑solving skills, and close collaboration with research, web, and product stakeholders.

• Lead the design and development of AI and ML systems, ensuring high‑quality, robustness, maintainability and reusability.
• Bridge AI research with real‑world applications by translating research prototypes and ideas into production‑ready solutions, tools, and pipelines.
• Work with large and complex datasets, including geospatial, sensor, and time‑series data.
• Optimize AI system performance, efficiency, and scalability.
• Ensure rigorous testing, reproducibility, and documentation of all AI systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and establish best MLOps practices for AI development workflows.
• Stay current with AI engineering trends, frameworks, and tools, integrating relevant innovations into projects.

Experience:

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in AI engineering, machine learning development, or applied ML roles.

Technical

Skills:

• Experience covering the entire ML lifecycle (MLOps).
• Experience working with cloud‑based infrastructure (preferably AWS), including serverless computing (e.g. AWS Lambda) and high‑performance clusters (GPUs).
• Proficiency in Python for AI/ML development and deployment.
• Knowledge of agentic AI systems, Large Language Models (LLMs), foundation models, inference, fine‑tuning, RAG and prompt‑engineering.
• Ability to evaluate AI methods for practical performance, reliability, and applicability in prototypes.
• Good command of machine learning frameworks and tools, such as Lang Chain, MCP, Hugging Face, Large Language Model APIs, etc.

• Open‑source contributions in AI/ML.
• Demonstrated experience guiding AI/ML projects or teams.
• Exposure to working with sports, human movement, or performance‑related data.
• Prior experience collaborating with research, web, and product teams in applied settings.

Among other tools, we use Slack, Google Suite, Zoom, Notion, Git Hub (incl. Copilot), and Excalidraw.
