Role OverviewThis position focuses on the commercial strategy and marketing leadership of our cloud native operations product areas, including Juju, Identity management, and Observability. The Product Manager will lead the product lifecycle, collaborate cross‑functionally, conduct market research, and work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and sales.
Responsibilities- Lead the lifecycle of product development by reviewing priorities and goals.
- Oversee the product development process with engineering leads.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align priorities and keep business execution on track.
- Conduct market research, analyse industry trends, and gather customer feedback to identify opportunities.
- Develop the team through coaching, mentoring and training.
- Establish KPIs for project status reporting and communicate them across Canonical.
- Drive execution excellence through continuous feedback and improvement.
- Contribute strategies to build high‑performing teams.
- Support the sales team by reviewing customer feedback and participating in customer meetings.
- Seasoned product management experience in technical domains related to open source software in the cloud native landscape.
- Experience designing or managing software operations for large‑scale distributed systems.
- Good understanding of cloud native technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker containers.
- Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise security and compliance requirements for software operations.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive execution excellence.
- Passion for writing about technologies and experience in developer marketing.
- Strong work ethic and alignment with open source philosophy.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.
- Experience with CNCF projects, identity or observability systems.
- Insatiable intellectual curiosity and passion for future technology.
- Strong sense of ownership; accountable for product and team success.
- Problem‑solving skills and visionary leadership.
