What

You’ll Do
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend services using Python and serverless architectures (AWS Lambda or equivalent).
  • Define and enforce best practices for writing concise, robust, and maintainable functional‑style code.
  • Architect event‑driven systems leveraging AWS and other modern cloud platforms.
  • Write and maintain unit and integration tests, adopting test‑driven development (TDD) practices.
  • Collaborate with architects, product managers, data, QA, and front‑end teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical discussions, and help shape best practices within the team.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for performance optimization and code quality improvements.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of professional experience in Python backend development.
  • Deep experience building serverless / Lambda‑based systems (e.g., AWS Lambda).
  • Strong experience with functional programming paradigms (lambda expressions, closures, higher‑order functions, map/filter/reduce).
  • Solid skills in unit testing, mocking, and TDD.
  • Excellent debugging, profiling, and performance‑tuning skills.
  • Strong understanding of modular software design, including extensibility, error handling, and resilience.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross‑functional remote teams.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as Dynamo

    DB, API Gateway, S3, and Cloud Watch is highly advantageous.

Salary range: $55,000 – $110,000 annually, with final compensation determined by your qualifications, expertise, experience, and the role’s scope.

Location

This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must be based in regions that align with the Pacific, Central, or Eastern U.S. time zones to ensure effective collaboration with client and team schedules.
